I was just in the AS/SMU office and there were some potato chips there in a big bowl. People who have left over food know that they can bring it to our office and someone will eat it. . . even if it's a few weeks old! I'm not one of those people, but, I did manage to find an unopened bag of potato chips along with the opened one that had already been emptied into the bowl. Anticipating a week/weekend of paper writing and studying, I decided it would be in my best interest to take the unopened bag for a late night snack. I'm reminded now of my dear grandmother and I'm going to learn from her mistakes. . .
When I was probably 6 or 7 years old, Thanksgiving was traditionally held at my Aunt Cheryl's house, and we were all there enjoying conversation and way too much food! Here's how the conversation went:
Dad: Grandma, I noticed that you have a bandage on your finger, what happened?
Grandma: Well, I was trying to open a bag of potato chips with a knife and when I held the bag up to stab it, I forgot that my finger was right behind the bag.
With the greatest innocence, she lifted her hand and proceeded to show him only her middle finger. All the brothers erupted into laughter and to this day, the Thanksgiving 'Grandma flipped us off' will be a legend!
