new music of the week. . .

So this week (while studying), I have discovered two AMAZING new musics.  Check it out!

Music #1: John Mark McMillian's newest album. . . The Medicine.

This CD is really good.  It's a little bit of southern rock and lots of really good lyrics.  Not your typical Christian artist, John Mark challenges listeners to live crazy for Jesus.
I also really like that he's gotten better since his last CD.  Learning and growing as a musician is always something that I admire.  If you need some good soul-soothing and heart-speaking music. . . then check it out.  Amazing!

Good Musics #2: MGMT
These guys (at least I think they're both guys) were recommended to me by a friend at the crazy Halloween party that I went to on Friday.

MGMT is a little different than John Mark.  They're some cool 80s funk-techno fusion.  As a band I think they started in Brooklyn, NYC. . . which makes it really awesome.

If you want to dance or just feel goofy, this is the music to listen to.  On the flip side, their lyrics speak a lot about the transition from childhood to adulthood.  They talk about mourning youth and moving on to new things in the world.  But the music is really fun sounding.

Anyway, it's legit (in my best music critic vocabulary).  Check them out at whoismgmt.com!
