What was I doing 10 years ago?
I was in the 5th grade 10 years ago. I was homeschooled and very much enjoying my life in 4-H! I took a sewing class and a cooking class that year. It was SO fun! And I have quite the blue ribbon collection to show for it. I can remember wearing the funniest clothes at the time. I had this blue skirt with red flowers on it and I would wear it with a really 'cool' blue sweater, white tights, and white keds tennis shoes! Oh, brother! I definitely thought I was REALLY hot. I can remember reading Anne of Green Gables that year, and while I LOVE the movie, I thought the book was the most boring thing I had ever read. Her talking is fun and cute in the movie. . . but reading it all was SO tiresome! But I also read The Wheel on the School, which is one of my all-time favorite books. If you haven't read it, you should check it out. It's about this little village in Holland and some kids that are trying to find a wheel so the storks can make nests in their village. But there are no wheels in the village so they search far and wide to find them. Jillian is going to be in 6th grade next year and will be homeschooled, I hope that she reads it. . . or maybe we'll have to do some summer reading together.
What are 5 things on my to-do list for today?
Well, the day is almost over but tomorrow looks promising. Jillian, Brooklin and I (and my mom, I think) are going to go see the "Kit" movie. I LOVE American Girl! So I'm excited to pass on the tradition to my sisters and join them at the theater. Plus, it was either that or The Hulk with my dad. I'm also going to clean my bathroom. I want to spend time journaling and reading my Bible. I'll probably go to Costco with my mom. It's summer. . . I don't really have a to-do list.
Snacks that I enjoy. . .
Oh man! I LOVE snacks. Recently I've become a big fan of Cliff Bars. I think the peanut butter chocolate chip ones are my favorite. Also, while I was in NYC, I drank a TON of Naked Juice. It's really fresh and good fruit juice. It's also really filling so you can drink a bottle of it and be full! I love dried mangos, cinnamon almonds, pita and hummus, chips and guac, cheetos, wheat toast with butter, Reece's Peanut Butter Cups, York peppermint patties, Kettle Chips, Tofutti Cuties, Yakima cherries, strawberries from down the street, carrot sticks and many others. . . probably pretty much anything you like!
Things I would do if I were a billionaire: (Nicki, you spelled billionaire wrong on your blog :))
Ahh! That's so much $$! Give some to Jesus. . . what that looks like, I'm not sure. I would pay for Biola. . . and then maybe go to grad school. I would send my brother and sisters to Biola. I think I'd buy a few new pairs of shoes and a nice pair of jeans. I'd then buy a flat in NYC and shop at Whole Foods for the rest of my life.
Places I have lived:
In the Rosecrans Apartments in La Mirada. Pretty much on Biola's campus! I was destined to go there!! Second, La Habra on Greenwood Ave in a really cute yellow house. I still drive by every once-in-a-while and the fence my dad built is still standing and my mom's hand painted mail box hanging next to the front door. Then we moved to P-town! Puyallup, WA, Crystal Ridge. Then back to La Mirada. . . Alpha Chi! Yeah girls of Alpha. And now I live at the C Heart C B&B. . . except I don't breakfast so it's more like only the first B.
Jobs I have had:
Wedding photographer. My favorite wedding was the one where the whole wedding party got food poisoning at the rehearsal dinner. It was really funny. . . after the fact! And don't worry, we still got some good pictures. Then I cleaned houses for Cambria. I've never been good at cleaning and so I'm sure her clients were glad when the summer was over. Then I worked in Data Entry at Biola. . . Exciting. . . I know! I know the SAT score of every single freshman who has ever been admitted. That's power! Just kidding. Next I worked as a secretary in the Admissions Office. . . "Biola Admissions, How can I help you?" Then Missions Conference Director and next AS/SMU Office Manager! I'm excited to be office manager. I'm sure I'll have many a story to tell from my experiences there. I'll be assisting the presidents of both AS and SMU as well as running the office and overseeing the secretaries. I'll also sit as chair of the election committee for next year's presidents. It should be fun.
Well. . . that's me. I would tag people except that I don't think anyone really reads this. If you want to answer these questions on your blog. . . knock yourself out!!
Thanks Nicki. . . Sorry my response took so long.
